Palmer, Massachusetts- August 9, 2016- On Friday, August 5, 2016, Sanderson MacLeod celebrated the opening of their Employee Appreciation Garden by hosting a company barbeque and company gathering.
First and second shift employees enjoyed good food, laughs and plentiful sunshine while getting familiar with their newly appointed break and relaxation space. The Appreciation Garden features covered lunch tables, park benches, perennial gardens and quiet shade areas for enjoying the best of New England weather.
“The Garden’s purpose is simple…to say thank you,” said President Mark N. Borsari. “Sanderson MacLeod represents so much more than just a company that makes brushes. It’s a mindset. We all know our past and present successes are only possible because for more than 70 years, our employees have come to work every day focusing on being the best brush makers in the world.”
In planning for more than six months, the Appreciation Garden is the latest in environment enhancements made to the Palmer, Massachusetts facility. Recent additions include the BIC brush development laboratory, exterior landscaping, new air conditioning and a recently expanded parking lot.
Sanderson MacLeod’s next project, scheduled for November, 2016 is the build out of Twister’s Café…a 1950’s style cafeteria complete with soda bar, product showcases, company photographs, serving stations and booth and table seating.
“Manufacturing is changing so quickly,” said Sanderson’s Human Resource Manager Becky Gibson. “In order to retain and attract the best and brightest, we feel it’s important that Sanderson’s internal environment mirrors the world class production work we do on the floor. It’s what our team and customers deserve, and, it certainly makes coming to work a lot more fun!”
